Difference between staff DVDs

Postby pilotfish » Tue Jun 03, 2014 3:15 pm

Hi.

What are the differences between the Fundamental Training and Basic Sequences DVDs for staff training? Are there significant implications to the order of using them?

Thanks

Wile not having the DVD's I do practice the YMAA staff. You would be better getting the fundamentals DVD first as learning the forms otherwise would be much harder. The forms without the fundamentals would also be of more limited use from a practical applications point of view.

I'm assuming "undergarment DVD" is an autocorrect error for "Fundamentals DVD". Otherwise I'll have to take a closer look at what the YMAA publication center is stocking these days :)

Hi, The fundamentals DVD teach you how to select a staff, how to handle it, and all basic techniques of using a staff with techniques from Southern styles (soft & soft/hard).

The Basic Sequences DVD teaches the solo and partner Shaolin staff sequences and related training drills.

Thanks to everyone above. I'll start with the fundamentals.
