Qigong and Libido (Excessive Sexdrive)

Postby dmattwads » Mon Sep 14, 2009 11:06 am

I've read Dr. Yang's Marrow Washing book a bit, and Mantak Chia's secrets of love but am still confused about a few things. My sex drive can get excessive at times, and it is not enjoyable. It is very distracting, and it plays with my mind, making me think of and want some outlandish things sometimes. I have practiced the marrow washing technique where you draw the sexual energy in the groin area up the spine to the head and dan tien, but if I do this Nei Dan alone it is not enough, yet I don't want to always have to use Wai Dan stimulation. Is there a way in Qigong to lower your sex drive?

ESSENTIAL POINTS
1. It has to begin with self discipline
2. Qigong cannot lower one's sex drive
3. The outlandish things relate to your own mind and not to qigong
4. You are playing with your own mind and have no consciousness of that dispaly

qigong helps open up channels and increase blood flow. its good for the sex drive :D

yeniseri is right, its a mind thing. identify mind triggers and redirect them when they come up. doing those exercises haphazardly and without instruction can screw your package up, especially if you have a tough time controlling your mind.

check out www.alchemicaltaoism.com - there's some good sections there that pertain to this.

Hi D,
We have spoken before about your kidney yin defiecency. Another one of the unfortunate symptoms of this is this chronic over-active sex drive problem you are experiancing. You need to avoid ejaculation, at this time as (for men, not women) this further weakens the kidney qi. After practicing qigong use acupressure on points
Sanyinjiao (Sp-6),
Taixi (Kd-3),
Guanyuan (Cv-4),
and Hegu (LI-4).
Acupressure is far more effective after you have mobilized the qi by either qigong or massage. These points apart from LI-4 all strengthen Kidney yin.
Qigong alone will not be enough to strengthen your kidneys, but if you use the acupressure after qigong this should be a lot more effective.
Also, eat lots of walnuts. In TCM walnuts strengthen the kidneys ability to store the qi received from the lungs.

Hope this helps.

Take care
DEADLI.

Thanks for the tip about walnuts, as I did not know about that ;) . As to avoiding ejaculation I have been doing that for over a year now for that very reason (avoiding kidney depletion).
I think a lot of the problem is what the other two posters stated, which is a lot of it is mental. The reason I think so is that often I won't so much feel the physical sensation of desiring sex so much as having very kinky thoughts.
I have made an interesting observation though. Gilles Marin (a student of Mantak Chia) in his book "Five Elements Six Conditions" states that the liver is the organ of the mind, mental thought, imagination, ect... I had noticed that on the days after I had, had a beer, or glass of wine that my thoughts about sex were much more bizzare and aggressive. Alcohol is filtered from the body by the liver, thus increasing the toxicity of my liver. I got some Milk Thistle a few days ago in order to detoxify my liver. After taking it and at the same time avoiding alcohol (I drink lightly anyhow) my thoughts about sex have calmed down substantially.
I'm not saying for sure that "that is it" but thats been my recent observation, and I will continue to be aware of my inner mental state and what might be affecting it.

Though this post is similar to my post about 8 Brochades, I'll have to say that I absolutely agree with everyone who said that the issues was with my mind as opposed to my sex drive. After doing 8 Brochades extensively for a week, the effect on my mind was outstanding, my mind was more calm than it had been for a while, and the struggles and frustrations I had been having in relation to sex seemingly almost vanished :).

taken far enough, you could treat it like an addict treats overcoming the addiction: identify what triggers the mechanism, understand why it is you think that way is the way "out of the situation"...remove yourself from the situation, be objective, logical, scientific...

I think today I have begun to realize that a lot of this problem is very likely is the result of having done the semen retention techniques that Mantak Chia teaches in his "Healing Love" book. The longer I go with the "retention" the more of a sex obsessed mania I become no matter how much Qigong, Acupressure, Herbs, ect... that I do or take. Then when it gets to the point that I'm about to completely go mental, I'll ..."release" the pressure if you know what I mean, and feel just dandy. I'm not so sure if that stuff is good for you.

nan, huai-chin says in "working towards enlightenment" that its the mind that stirs it. that's not to say slap yourself if you think improperly, but to merely recognize that path and consciously decide not to go down it. without having the small circulation, mco, what you have you - without that being sufficiently open where that is the path of least resistance, then any sexual training is only going to REALLY knock at the door of least resistance ;) especially if the mco is certainly not even close to your path of least resistance. that's another reason why there's those prerequisites - if you close the walls in on a single electron with no way for it to escape, then the energy of impacts with the walls will increase exponentially as the walls get smaller and smaller!

I read in Dr. Yang's books that you are not supposed to do Qigong 24 hours after sex. Is this any type of Qigong, or just some kinds? Also would the same apply to exercise?
