shaolin staff dvd

in the advertising video for the dvd it says that they're martial application...I've just watched the dvd and i didn't see any explained martial application for qi mei gun. Some are sort of obvious though I thoguht that would have been the occasion to learn more details.
So did I miss something or what was it that was implied in the ad..?

Xav
That DVD is different than most of Dr Yang's programs. Rather than do a separate martial applications section at the end, he instead explains the martial applications during Course 1. He explains how each solo technique is applied, ie. a block, a downward strike, a sting...if this were a demonstration-only program, we would not mention martial applications. They are mentioned because they are verbally taught by Master Yang during Course 1.

In Qi Mei Gun and Qi Mei Dui Gun those same techniques are then strung together. These basic sequences are so simple, there's not much else to them.

If you are not sure of a martial application at some point in either of those sequences, watch Course 1 again. Hope this helps, thank you,

well actually it was for one move in particular, the one that we repeat 2 and a half times in the 2nd half of qi mei gun. I would really have like to see an application done/explained by Master Yang to know the main application 'cause I've been seeing kinda two applications and both feel kinda weird with the form; outside the form they're cool but in the form I get confused with the sense of enemy.
Maybe I'm still clutching too tight to the form :?

Thanks Dvivid for the quick input :)

And sorry if I look like I'm always criticizing :? I do appreciate all the hard work you put into DVDs, it's just that when I'm satisfied with something I seldom say I am and only point out the drawbacks

I have enjoyed the "Shaolin STAFF: Basic Sequences" DVD.
Dr. Yang mentions a second, advanced Shaolin STAFF DVD.
Does anyone know when it is scheduled for release?

Thanks,
Frank

Hi

It has not been filmed, and will likely not be done in the next couple years...maybe 2011?

Thank you.
