Conditioning for growing taller?

Postby nchang » Tue Jul 26, 2005 7:48 pm

All right, some people might not agree with me on this, but I'm 5 feet and 6 inches tall- I think I'm a shorty. Is there any way of martial art training for grow taller? I'm 19 years old and my mom is 5 feet, but my dad is 6 feet, so maybe there is still hope for me to grow a little bit more?

By the way, I kinda stop growing when I was 14, because of stress, but right now I don't have stress, can I still grow more than 5'6" ?
Thank you for replying.

the rack!

in qigong for health and martial arts, dr yang says any form of stimulation to the yongquan cavity on the bottom of the feet can cause growth.

What about normal streching? Will it work, too?

Doubt you will get any taller. But maybe what Master Yang told Eric is true. Eric is tall and big for a 16 yr old...(I think your 16) Though your brother is too, must run in the family.

Once pass the age of 18 you stop growing up and start growing out. Maybe a little bit of stretching might help. I dont think so though. Pretty much you have to deal with the lord gave ya.

i wouldn't worry about height. i saw jiangban jun the former chinese national champion in longist in berkeley this year. when you watch video of his forms, you think he must be 6 feet tall at least. he maybe came up to my chest. its all about your attidude towards the task at hand.

oh and stimulation of the yongquan can be achieved my many means. dr. discusses the practice of treading bamboo, which is just stepping on a bunch of bamboo rods. massage would also work.
