Xingyi at YMAA

Postby SCMT » Thu Jun 09, 2016 11:43 am

I know Ken Craggs taught XIngyiquan at YMAA Boston before YMAA Boston moved to Roslindale.

Is anyone teaching Xingyiquan at any of the YMAA schools in Massachusetts these days; YMAA Boston, YMAA Western MA, Yang's Martial Arts And Yoga, YMAA Amesbury?

Or are there any XIngyiquan seminars coming up at any of the above schools?

I went to have a look at the individual links for those schools. While I could find most of the seminar schedules, I wasn't able to discover much on Xingyi at the present time.

It seems like YMAA Boston has a sword fundamentals seminar coming up:

YMAA Western Mass. features a by-request seminar system:

Andover doesn't seem to be offering anything close either:

I hope that everything is all right with Amesbury; their schedule hasn't been updated for some time:

Perhaps someone far more knowledgeable than me about these schedules could let you know more information, but I did what legwork that I could in the hopes that it might be of some small help, as well as get you to the sites you would need to contact someone from!

It may not be Xingyi but Andover is offering 'Na Jin' and 'Tui Shou' and I am an old Yang Taiji guy (Tung Ying Chieh lineage) and I am always looking for taiji training from others lineages and other points of view, looking at things form a different perspective it is a great way to learn more. I will have to check my schedule (meaning check with my wife :) ) and see if I can make those

My first real push hands class was at one of Dr Yang's 3 day seminars, many years ago, back when he was still based in the Boston area.
