I'm from the Caribbean, an there's not much variety in martial arts over here, the most known or dominant one in ma country's karate. Bruce Lee's an inspiration as to how i look at martial arts. I respect all arts an if i could train in um, i'd train in them all 8) guess i'm greedy yet finding ones limits an grasping it in ya own hands is an amazing thing.

Currently i've gathered a lot vid tutorials, an one or two books on arts i'm interested in.

What i've realized is before i undergoing any physical training, i need a solid foundation energy wise , as energy can determine your mastery of a art.

I've checked out dvd 1-3 of the Understanding Qigong dvd series and its taught me alot. Qigong is an amazing art, An with this I start my foundation, currently focusing on the breathing aspect of it , so far I'm just doing abdominal breathing.. gonna do more when the movement becomes a habit.

Out of curiosity where in the Caribbean are you? I know that some of the Islands have developed their own unique martial arts.

I'm from Saint Lucia. Doubt we got our own. Some traditional dances of various islands have that martial history to it, movements look war like in an eye pleasing way.
