Muay Thai Clinch

Postby Balloo777 » Tue Apr 30, 2013 11:46 am

Hello everyone. My background is in Kung fu primarily and Jeet Kune Do. Recently I went to a muay thai class. I am wondering if the Thai clinch is a bad idea in a no holds barred fight. I am not bashing muay thai, I have nothing but respect for it, please don't mistake me. I was sparring with a Thai boxer, and I was put in a clinch, all I did was tuck my elbows in to my center, and went to town on their exposed ribs. Is there a better way to do a Thai clinch than wrapping both arms around the opponents head, exposing the center?
