paper, i'm not sure this post belongs under 'sparring and fighting'. i have to say i disagree with you that 'words are only words'. i presume you mean as in the old addage "sticks and stones my break my bones but words will never hurt me". language, the printed word, the spoken word are extremely powerful. they can inform, inspire, motivate, soothe and hurt. and hurt in a way that you describe - in a way unseen, not like a broken limb or black eye. tis true that what can appear 'good' can be 'bad' and vice versa. another old addage "don't judge a book by its cover". unfortunately i had difficulty grasping the gist of the second half of your message. perhaps someone else will see what i am not understanding.
