this has got me thinking about the context in which these techniques were developed. since behavior/ritual is varied to cater to natural cycles. Techniques are organized based on distinct seasons (simplified ex. rest and conserve during colder months, purge and build during warmer months).
I see what you mean about less guardian Qi required during warmer months, however, in a geographical locationwith constant warm temperature - there will be other challenges that stress the body. the question of whether it would be even more effective in a warmer area is an interesting one.
as martial artists, we marry many traditional techniques with modern lifestyles and diversity in culture and climate. we have to find ways to practice wherever we are. reminds me of, say, how would a Muslim practice Ramadan in the artic circle? would he break his fast - eating only during literally several minutes of night or would he follow the hours of darkness in Mecca accounting for local time difference?
