Wai Dan for young people?

At what age would it be considered safe to introduce young people to wai dan?i would say 13/14 .but with low levels of training...
anyone shed any light on this?

I think any age. As far as I have seen and been told unless you really get the mind involved you are not at any risk. The external movements just help open up channels and massage organs brings the chi to the skin things that naturally happen but in a more targeted manner and slightly more powerful manner. At the Shaolin temple they start them on qui gong very young maby 5 years old. Danger comes through deeper practices. At Wudan I think they would already be doing Nei Dan by 13 I have seen videos of children meditating both seated and standing.

Agreed - children pick stuff up ridiculously fast. The younger you get them started (for most things) the better. The deep meditations probably wouldnt be advisable mostly because it would be pretty likely that the kid wouldnt want to integrate into society if they are going very deeply at a very young age.
