Running and jumping rope after qi gong.

Postby internalfist » Fri May 14, 2010 7:49 pm

Hi, I do my qi gong in the morning and due to lack of time later in the day Im thinking about jogging and/or jumping rope after my qi gong practice. Im just wondering if its a good idea to do some thing that rigorous right after my morning qi gong?

Do it before. You talking just zz in the morning or do you do moving forms? Either way, settling always happens after stirring ;) So you might as well make the "mindful-aware settling" come after the vigorous.

Well I do a set from the Xingyi Qi gong from Dr.Yangs & Liangs Xingyi book then my ZZ. so I will do that first thing, the jogging, which is perfect cauae I normally just walk to the woods to do my qg.
Thanks for the info bro :)

Of course you can experiment with either and see for yourself if one order happens to resonate more with you than another, but that's just my own logical deduction. It always helps to back these things up with your own experience, for only you can gain experience for yourself.

I've done some experimenting and I must say I preffer doing my cardio before. Do some yoga/stretching to wake up the body take a brisk walk to the woods do my jump rope, work my xingyiquan for awhile, then my ZZ. Loving it :D

Excellent!!! It is important to test these things out and verify the result for oneself - we're all different in subtle ways!
