I am not a dietitian but in general I think its just good all around to eat healthy. With that being said I have heard that each organ has its own flavors that are good for it or are associated with them, (spleen - sweet, liver - bitter ) ect... Also if you are too yang you would want to avoid foods that would make you more yang such as spicy food. In the summer you might want to eat more yin foods since summer is a yang season, so foods like fruits for example in the summer would be good in general. So I think a lot of it has to do with your specific situation in both heath and time. But that just my basic understanding and I am far from an expert.
