children can practice Qigong ?

Postby mreiley » Sat Aug 01, 2009 7:36 pm

hello to all

I am new in the Qigong and I wanted to know two things:

the first one is if the children can practice Qigong and to that age is better.

The second asks it is if it is correct to practice Qigong and then to carry out some type of physical activity as practicing martial arts or Run.

I have taught qi qong in scholls for all ages and they all love it (espically the younger ones) they wont do it correctly but then they will enjoy it. With older ones you should be more strict about the postures.

Qi qong can be uused as a 'warm up' a 'cool down' or the exercise, it depents an what qi qong exercise you are doing and its/ your purpose

Personally, children should be allowed to run, play and be active as they always have been. Sadly, they do less of it now with the video game socialized sedentary mindset.
I am not against it but at the same time I am not for it because it seems unnatural for a child to naturally gravitate to such activity in this present industrialized milieu
