Postby tico » Tue Nov 04, 2008 10:56 am

Hey,

Is it good to learn Qi gong by dvd? A live lesson is better, isn't it.

DVDs are excellent learning tools!
They are good supplements to teacher learning and but should not replace the teacher. Let us say you are interested in learning Dr Yangs' taijiquan form, you went to a live class but you forgot parts of the form. Having the DVD is great because you just follow the choreography since you already had the face to face teaching.

The DVD also gives a background to become prepared when you take the class. Some things you cannot learn by watching so a class is necessary to experinece. Have fun!

If you are not near a teacher, you can certainly learn by DVD.

Dr Yang is careful to make them complete so you can really learn...

of course, questions come up and you must research or study with a master to progress beyond the issues or limitations you encounter...
