This is my first venture into the unarmed martial arts category (5 years of various swords and styles).

I was wondering as to the physical spacial requirements for practicing white crane hard/soft qigong? Is it something that can be practiced on a 4'x6' mat, in a cleared living room, or should I journey to the gym to practice?

Yes, you stand in one place, in fact.

FYI - White Crane Qigong IS martial arts training, but it can also just be done for health. White Crane qigong develops the body structure for jin (power) patterns, which are then strung together to create White Crane kungfu sequences.

Ah, thank you. I had viewed qigong as the preparation/internal aspect of Chinese martial arts, thank you for setting me straight on that account.
