Tai Chi Sword - for beginners?

Postby desert_hack » Sat Sep 26, 2015 8:03 am

Hello,

I have just learned the Yang long form from your excellent new Yang Tai Chi for Beginners DVD.

I bought the new sword DVD you have just produced, along with the book. I wanted to get cracking with it, but I wasn't sure if it's suitable for beginners.

Should I learn the saber form first? Are you going to re-do that DVD too?

Did you get an opportunity to take a look at the recent post on the main site about this?

If Dvivid is around, then he'll definitely let you know if the saber DVD is being redone.

Do you currently practice with a Jian or Dao?

Edit: I actually dug up another link I was looking for when I wrote this. Perhaps this may be of value since it explains what to look for when selecting a sword:

I got the DVD also and its great. I am still learning the long form so once I am done learning through the DVD, martial application and pushing hands, I can give time to this a well.
