Postby bowser666 » Fri Mar 12, 2010 5:30 pm

Wanted to see if someone could explain the difference to me ? Is the Simplified following the Post Cultural Revolution, where as traditional is pre-CR ? ? Is simplified for competition etc.... ? Thanks in advance.

There is no objective standard in the present marketplace!
"Simplifeid" Taijiquan is an oversimplification but examined carefully you will see that the same postures in Simplified Taijiquan are the same in the 84/85 or 108 Taijiquan "long" sequence.

There are still 37-40 unique postures in taijiquan and the long sequence postures are repetitions. The difference (to me) is in utility of the the form(s), whether martial or wushu and understanding of them.
