I cannot describe it but there is a thread that unites/transcends) taijiquan and above arts (I include aikido) in that the movement patterns share the same 'alpha' and 'omega' traces.

The patterns are there and one has to really sense the bond of similarity!

He is doing what I am trying to eliminate right now from my sequences and application. Coming up when emitting power and the ocassional pull from the front leg instead of push from the back. He also seems to spend a lot of time with both legs in the air....
