Taiji fighting...

This is just an experience I would like to share. I took my wife out to a club for Mother's Day and we had a few drinks, we were also celebrating her best friend's birthday. Well her best friend got a little too drunk so they were kicking us out. I managed to escort her friend upstairs to get her stuff and out the door, keeping the bouncers at bay and everything calm. Well her cousin's husband came up and tried to take her home, alone, by himself without his wife... And hes a shady character.
Well I tried to calmly convince him that she was ok going with her bestfriend and myself to her house where we would make sure she was ok. Well he decided he was gonna be a tough guy and grabbed my wrist forcefully like I was going to get scared and give in. I twisted my wrist as in step back repulse monkey to peacefully break his grasp, but he wouldnt let go so of course he hurt his wrist. At this point a bouncer stepped between us to push him back, which temporarily distracted me, and he scratched my face with his free hand. I pushed him back to get him within striking distance and had a clear shot to use Hit the tiger to his temple and possibly knock him unconscious or kill him. The application, with fa jing, started automatically, and I had to stop myself before it connected. I then realized what I almost done. I never felt more powerfull in my life and a surge of hapiness filled my body. His life at that moment was in my hands, so even though I didnt go through with it, I had won.
If this was 2 years ago when I was practicing from my books, I would probably be in jail today. Even if I just knocked him unconscious, I was in the military so I am certified as a deadly weapon regardless what happens. And thats when I realized more than ever before why in Chinese martial arts are called "stop fist". I could have hurt/killed him and proved a pointless point, but instead, I had self control, and It was for the best. I made peace with him and despite his arrogance and running his mouth, we went to my wife's friends house, shook hands, and we all peacefully drank together. He still has no idea about my military history, and I prefer no one, who does not know me, knows I study Taijiquan.
