Books in Chinese

Postby joshuatan » Sat Dec 01, 2007 1:40 pm

Hi all,

I've recently started my study of Qigoing and Taiji and have found it to be a fascinating subject.

Does any know where I might obtain material written in Chinese? I speak it as a second language, and although Dr. Yang does an excellent job of translating, I still feel that in many areas the English translation does not have the same nuances as the Chinese (when he provides the original text). For example, though Shen is usually translated as Spirit, it sort of means Spirit, but also doesn't quite mean Spirit either.

I would be glad if anyone could point me to any resources.

One of the best places is Plum Pubs:

They have quite a bit in Chinese.

I would highly suggest these books on Li Ya-xuan's Yang style:

The books have great written descriptions with lots of info, the pics are clear and there are many of them, each book comes with a foldout poster of the material in the book, and some of them even come with free DVDs. I've never seen a series this good in any language.

Enjoy!
