I am currently looking to buy a Jian, but on that site there are several lengths available. What length is appropriate for someone who is roughly 1.90 mtr tall ?

There has been a lot of discussion about jian length. Here is a summary:

Training
Normally a larger, heavier sword. This builds muscle and technique.

Cutting Practice
Shorter jian for correct weight and balance. Antique 'real' jian used on the battlefield were typically under 100cm at around 78cm.

So ideally you would have at least 2 jian. One to develop form an muscle, the other to practice cutting technique.

Cutting practice is essential to understand the Jian.

for taijiquan, the sword should be as long as the distance from your plexus to the ground.

If I recall correctly, when you hold the jian properly (when beginning the routine) the tip should be close to the ear (left). If higher than the ear, it is too long!
