Yes, each Taiji movement has many primary and secondary applications.

In the 24 form, as it was created for the purpose of popularizing tai chi by the communist government through standardized competitions, those applications are not shown during performance of the form.

And it is true, the applications are not popularly taught or practiced by many Tai Chi practitioners. But, that is fine, many people practice only for the benefits of moving meditation and qigong. That's great.

Lilman, it is not WRONG to add applications into your 24 form during your practice (add 100 of them!), but if you did it in a competition, there would be two extra moves that are not part of the official 24 form and you would lose points.

The 24 form is a modernized form. There is no secret 26 posture version taught only in TX.

If you want to train taijiquan in-depth, with martial apps, I recommend the 108 Yang form. More movements, more applications:

And, returning to the topic of this thread, there are also many applications taught for Emei Baguazhang by Grandmaster Liang here:

lol :) Thank you for your reply Dvivid, I do realize how that sounds but I do not think there is a "secret" 26 movement form only practiced in Texas. ;) Im just realizing the roots of what my teacher taught me, and Im just stating that I never seen it practiced like this anywhere before. I understand a lot of people study Taiji for just competition and health, and thats great, Im just merely stating what I was taught. What I am being taught is NOT meant for competition so shouldnt be performed that way. I think anyone who practices Taiji as a martial art can benefit from the applications of those added movements which is why I posted it. Sorry if it sounded any different than intended.
