Hey,

I brought the book of shaolin ling fist (chan chuan, of the young Dr yang). But why does Dr Yang other names for stances than Shifu Shi Yan Ming or my own teacher?

Tico

Pu bu, Gong bu, Xie bu, Xu bu, Ding bu, Tsa bu etc

A reality check would show that the above names are actual descriptions of types of stances!
It is well known that posture(s), though sharing the same outward names may differ in pronounciation thereby affecting the translation. In the past, it has been shown that when masters of the past and present, trying to hide the art they copied from, obviously changed the name of said posture to hide an association.

Hey,

If I understabd it right, much trainers try to hide there styles or postures.

I thought; that are old names and the other new or modern names.
