I found the blog to be great.

Some of what I read their about the origins of a White Crane tradition is almost identical to the story my Wing Chun teacher told me about the origin of WingChun (I do not call him sifu, for he is not my sifu) however he lacked names and location details that are present in the white crane blog. Also interesting to me is the etymological connection between WC and WC, being Wing Chun and White Crane respectively.

WingChun is said to be an amalgamation art, several of the moves remind me of white crane. Am I terribly mistaken in my assumption that white crane was an influential style in the development of modern Wing Chun?

Thanks
Josh

I do not think that you would be terribly mistaken in making that assumption, it is widely believed that Wing Chun Kuen is descended from White Crane boxing.
