no idea when this was shot or what magazine this is from.

but that is a basic White Crane form, i think the name of it is exactly "White Crane Fundamental Sequence".

7-stripers will recognize this as part of the Bai He sequence we learn, and it is. except in the Bai He of the YMAA training program, my father combined several sequences into one, partly for demonstration purposes, since most White Crane forms are extremely short. the Bai He sequence we learn in the YMAA curriculum is combination of Qi Xing, Ba Mei Shou, and this Bai He Ji Chu Quan.

this Bai He sequence that's printed in the magazine is in the 7th-8th period of YMAA Shaolin. it is a complete sequence, and it is a whole chunk of the "Bai He" sequence taught in YMAA 7th Shaolin stripe, this form in its entirety. what's different in this printing and what YMAA students need to test, is that there are elements added from Qi Xing and Ba Mei Shou in what YMAA students test.

Qi Xing can be considered simpler than Bai He and Ba Mei Shou because it has less techniques, so Qi Xing is normally taught first. but they all train basic Jin patterns.

we actually have to test Qi Xing first in 6th stripe, then Bai He in 7th stripe, and Ba Mei Shou in 9th stripe. i don't know why the all inclusive form is taught in the middle, but i'm guessing it was just modified during demos and they kept it that way for the test as well.
