Hi,
Does anyone on here know what the theory, principles and concepts are when applying Fujian White Crane Chi-na and grappling techniques.

Hi KKF,
I would suggest reading Shaolin Chin na by Dr Yang Jwing-Ming

w00t! that about sums it up!

Plus teaching of the intricate points (People, myself included, often mess up where pressure is best applied, how the hand should be, etc.) is useful! You'd need a tecaher for that.

Hi Yat Chum,

Is the chin na demonstrated in Shaolin Chin na by Dr Yang Jwing-Ming strickly pure Fujian white crane chi-na or is it a mix of chi-na from all the arts that dr. Yang studied?

Can someone list what all the principles, concepts and theories involved in Fujian white crane chi-na applications?

Hi KKF, I haven't read the book for a long time but from what I remember the book is largely Fujian white Crane but it does touch on the chin na of eagle claw and long fist. As to the principles, concepts and applications there are people on this forum who are far more qualified than me to answer your question. Good luck in your quest.

Hi KFF, while thinking about your question and something my White Crane instructor once said popped in to my head "If you have questions, return to the Sam Chien for all the wonders of Peho Kun can be found there."

"Practice is the best master."

You should start with studying and exploring your kuens with a partner since all you have to know is already in it, waiting for you to understand the deeper meanings of the movements.
Next to that I also recommend to buy the book(s) mentioned above for some (basic) theory.

My teacher always said: "If it works 3 times in a row in a streetfight, it's a proper technique, if not you're doing something wrong, find it !!".
