White Crane styles?

Postby How Ming » Tue Jan 31, 2006 6:51 pm

Hello everyone!
I'm just curious to know if "Fukienese Flying Crane" is the same style of white cran as taught by GM Yang jwing Ming?

Does anyone know the different types of white crane styles????
I have heard of Tibetan White Crane kung fu but I dont know much about it.

Hi How Ming, Dr yang teaches Ancestral Crane the three other Major Fukien systems are Calling Crane, Feeding Crane, Flying Crane But there are several lesser known systems such as Yong Chun White Crane and Dong MuYao White Crane. As to Tibetan White Crane all I know is that even though it looks completely different the Fukienese style, in fight they are very similar, there is a TWC saying “Train long fight short.”

Hi How Ming, in short the answer is yes but all the Fukienese Crane systems stem from the same source. I will fill in the details as best I can when I have more time, unless I am beaten to it. Jo

Wikipedia has a nice table of different white crane styles, along with the different names each style is called.
