Let's see, what's more effective, an AK-47 or an M-16?

I supposed that the individuals armed and firing these weapons fight each other, and depends who have the better tactics and strategies, be the one avoid being shot and ends up shooting the other. Both weapons fire pretty powerful bullets. But powerful bullets does not take up the place of good strategy, tactics and actual experience.

Both Tong Long (mantis) and White Crane are pretty significant combative arts. Hypothetically going with both people have a solid foundation and basics in their respective styles. I would bet on the fighter that has more years of sparring and actual fight experience.

Granted you don't just learn a style and then you're all set combatively. You then have to build actual experience using it in one way or another.

Just like if you have a weapon, you not all set combatively. You need the training and experience with that weapon to actually increase your chance at succeeding combatively.

So just knowing a style does not guarentee a win against another style.

Excellent point Kevin.

When's the Chin Na? I won't be around the weekend of 21-22 if that's when the Chin Na is. But if Chin Na's another time, then I'll see you.

Hello Guys,

Yep we'll be over next Wednesday afternoon. Should make the Wednesday evening class if there are no delays. Is Wednesday still your class Walter???

We have Thursday and Friday to learn Kun Wu Gun  Before we had home on Monday evening.

I suppose it would've helped if I practiced what Kathy showed me when she came to Dublin for some really great sword seminars. I had the flu and a fever which meant I could barely stand while she was teaching me never mind absorb the intricacies of the form.

Well what am I waffling about? :D I need someone to show us the form if there is anybody about during those days. Please spread the word and I'll buy them a "pint" as well!

See you soon,
Paul
