how do you support yourself?

I wanted to start a thread on economic (not martial!) survival. What do people on this forum do as day jobs?

I worked for various companies involved in the production of steel drawings for fabrication shop use. Give or take 45 years.
I'm now retired and drawing social security and a pension. It has been sort of strange, as I really liked most all of my various jobs and where I worked, now I find that in retirement I don't miss any of it. Perfectly content cycling, doing Tai Chi, reading, working around the house, etc. I highly recommend retirement. If you're young please plan for it even though it may seem a long
way off. You won't regret it later and you'll enjoy it a whole lot more when it comes time to "call it a day".

Though 20 year old me thought I'd be a musician, a filmmaker, a rock journalist or a comparative mythology and folklore scholar, I support myself by working in the Medical Insurance field: Medicare Advantage enrollment and eligibility and broker support.
