Argumentation and Fallacy Study:
Truth is logical information based upon facts & reality, which distinguishes between rational & flawed argumentation.
Formal Fallacy is a pattern of reasoning which is always wrong, this is due to a flaw in the structure of the argument which renders the argument invalid.
Informal Fallacy is an argument pattern that is wrong due to a mistake in it's reasoning. In contrast to a Formal Fallacy, the error has to do with issues of rational inference that occur in natural language, which are broader than can be represented by the symbols used in Formal Logic.
Inductive Reasoning is the process of reasoning in which the premises are believed to ensure the conclusion, but does not ensure it.
Hasty Generalization is a Logical Fallacy of faulty generalization by reaching an inductive generalization based upon insufficient evidence.
Overwhelming Exemption is a Logical Fallacy similar to a Hasty Generalization. It is a generalization which is accurate, but comes with one or more qualifications which marginalises so many cases, that what remains is much less impressive than the initial statement one might have led to assume.
Misleading Vividness involved describing some occurence in vivid detail, even if it is an exceptional occurence, to convince someone that it is a problem. Though misleading vividness does nothing to support an argument logically, it can have a strong psychological effect because of a cognitive heuristic called the availability heuristic.
