Water hammer effect

Postby Josh Young » Thu Aug 13, 2009 5:55 pm

I was thinking about this in martial application, after all the body is mostly water and when relaxed it has fluid properties.

The principal is involved when a water stream is shut off, the wave of kinetic momentum from the stream of water continues to be propagated when the water has stopped.

I can't help but feel as if in at least some ways internal arts utilize this principal.
