Dropping a class...

So due to my poor economic situation, I'm forced to drop all of my martial arts, mainly so I can move out of this little town and get some training in a style I would really enjoy (for those of you who don't know, I'm a kung fu freak but all that we had here was Tae Kwon Do and Kumdo), namley mantis kung fu in the metro.

Heres my question.

I really respect my Tae Kwon Do teacher, and would like to properly thank him for all that he's taught me. Is there a good way to do this, or a good parting gift to give your instructor?
